Formation and evolution of galaxies, Feedback

When and where ?

every monday morning at 11am. The meeting room is "mistral", second floor.

Scientific contour

we decided to not be restrictive, in order to foster a maximum of discussions. So, as long as the goal is to understand galaxy evolution, feedback, it could be discussed in this circle.

Upload your figures

Upload the material that you want to discuss before the week-end. It would save us time and be sure to have enough to discuss.

Format

* astro-ph. we will start the meeting with an astro-ph which should last for 15-30 min. We will go around the table with the papers that people found interesting. It could be few weeks old. The idea is to show the most important figure of each paper and explain it (try to limit yourself to one figure). We will see how many papers we can discuss per week, but we probably need to stay within 5 min for each paper. You can upload the link of the paper in the wiki, or the main figure that you want to discuss.

* one plot. It would be great to have some people presenting their work in one plot. The ideal case would be one paper which is well advanced, you have a nice figure which illustrates the most important result of you paper. You present the figure and we discuss it. It will have the advantage to provide you feedback and trigger useful scientific discussion between us. Of course, we can decide to go in more details if you want and if we have time. It would be nice if you can upload the figure in the wiki in advance.

* one topic. We could try every one/two months to have an extensive discussion on one topic, which could be technical (e.g. SED fitting, reconstruction of the cosmic web, SAM, ...) or scientific (e.g. kind of review on the SFR, primordial galaxies, ...). In this case, we will do only that (no astro-ph, or one plot discussion). We will let it know to the other circles to foster transverse discussions between all circles. We will need one or several volunteers to prepare slides in order to support the discussion.

* project. If you want to present the current status of a large project (e.g. observational, instrumental, a simulation), we could have a specific informal presentation. It will be great to know what is happening within the team. Let me know in advance if possible, to organize our schedule.

* anything else you want to discuss, summarize of a conference, etc. If it requires a long slot, let me know and we can reserve the session.
