• Shining from the heart of darkness: black hole accretion and jets, Kathmandu, Nepal, 16-21 October 2016. The conference will be focused on the discussion of accretion physics and the mechanisms of jet launching and evolution in Galactic and extragalactic black hole systems (major observational and theoretical results). • Discs in Galaxies, ESO, Garching (Germany) 11-15 July 2016. The aim of this Joint international conference is to explore the importance of stellar and gaseous discs in a variety of galaxies from high redshift to the Milky Way in the context of exciting new observations and numerical simulations. • The Milky Way and its environment: gaining insights into the drivers of galaxy formation and evolution. International workshop held at IAP, Paris (France), 19-23 Sept 2016.

• A series of workshops at the Munich Institute for Astro- and Particle Physics (MIAPP) This is the 2017 programme, but the registration DL is quite early this year. Each workshop typically consists of regular seminars, but leaves much time for collaborations and informal discussions. Registrations for 2016 MIAPP Workshops are closed, but you can contact the organizers (info@munich-iapp.de) to know if spaces are still available.

• Chianti Workshop 2016: Use of small telescopes in the giant era San Donato in Poggio, Firenze (Italy) 11-13 May 2016. Organized by INAF, ESO, UC Davis, University of Florence. "It is not so much time that 8 m class telescopes are on duty and there are projects to build 30-40 m aperture telescopes. In this realm inhabited by such giants is still there need for small (less than 2 m) telescopes?"
